The world famous Louvre Pyramid was designed by Ieoh Ming Pei and built in 1989 as the main entrance of the museum. It’s a huge glass pyramid of 20.6 metres high and a square base with 35 metres sides.

In the year 2005 the Pyramid and the Louvre Museum became the most visited monument in Paris with a record of 7.3 million visitors. Some say this was in part because of the huge success of the novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown.
