Paris architecture & the River Seine

The River Seine is 776 kilometres long and it’s a great commercial waterway as well as a famous tourist attraction of France. It starts near Dijon in northern France, flows through the city of Paris and then into the English Channel. The name ‘Seine’ means sacred (from the Latin ‘Seguana’ and from the Celtic ‘Sicauna’).
While walking around Paris the River Seine it’s a lovely and romantic partner of many of Paris major attractions. Its beauty has inspired many important artists and in 1991 the UNESCO included the Banks of the Seine in the list of World Heritage Sites.
