Montmartre - Le Passe Muraille

Around the 1800s many famous artists moved to Montmartre, which rapidly became one of the most important artistic spots of Paris – as well as Montparnasse, its equivalent on the Left Bank. Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gen Paul, Amedeo Modigliani, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Matisse, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, André Derain, Maurice Utrillo, Suzanne Valadon, Edgar Degas, Théophile Steinlen, Camille Pissarro, Johan Jongkind and Pierre Brissaud are only some of the talents that lived and worked in the charming Montmartre area. Nowadays you can still enjoy many beautiful and colourful works of art in the Place du Tertre.
