Caveau de la Huchette

The Caveau de la Huchette is a legendary jazz venue in the Latin Quarter of Paris which has hosted some of greatest names in jazz, swing and be-bop. Located in an historic cavern dating from the 16th century, it has been open as a jazz club since 1946. Located on the bustling rue de la Huchette, famous names to have played here include Memphis Slim, Count Basie and Scott Hamilton. The Caveau de la Huchette played a central role in the post-war Saint Germain jazz scene which offered a stage and willing audiences to numerous African American jazz musicians denied opportunities in their homeland.
