Every summer two miles of the right bank of the River Seine, in the heart of Paris, are turned into a golden sand beach with beautiful palm trees! It’s the ‘Paris Plage’ (Paris beach), a cool spot of the city where tourists and locals can lounge on the sun-beds and take part in free sporting activities like petanque and beach volleyball. It is also used as an innovative stage where you can enjoy great concerts and shows.

This amazing project began in the year 2002 and is created using 2,000 tons of fine sand that are spread on what’s usually a busy Parisean motorway.
