Cable car Montmartre
Cable car Montmartre

Montmartre is a beautiful hill located in the north of the City of the Lights. Its name means ‘the mountain of the martyr’, as the patron saint of France and bishop of Paris called Saint Denis was executed on Montmartre. There are two lovely and famous churches on the hill – Sacre Coeur Church (Sacred Heart Church, built on Montmartre from 1876 to 1912) and Saint Pierre de Montmartre.

You can visit the famous cabaret du Lapin Agile or the red-light district of Pigalle (to the southwest). To go up the hill you can use The charming Funiculaire de Montmartre or the Montmartre bus.
